I would love to know of any recommendations you have of books for 6-9 year old readers. They can be books that children read to themselves, or books that an adult may read aloud to children. What’s holding the interest of children in this demographic these days? I’m curious to see differences and similarities to when I was teaching first and third grades.
I’ll start with a few popular books in my house with my 8 year old son:
*Percy Jackson series (read aloud)
*Harry potter series (read aloud)
*Magic tree house series (independent reading)
*Nate the great series (independent)
*Splurch Academy series (independent)
*The Chocolate Touch (independent) *Bunnicula (independent)
You can leave your recommendations in the comments and I’ll compile a list and share.
